Outside the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem, down in the Kidron Valley, at the foot of the Mount of Olives. It\'s a tough plant that thrives in this place. It usually has thorns.This view is from the balcony of the Petra Hotel, overlooking King David Square, near the Jaffa gate in the old city. Mark Twain stayed in this room while writing The Innocents Abroad.
The Israeli flag becomes trasnslucent in the sun, a stream of water falls. Photographed in an alley in the Jewish Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem.
Just outside of Damascus gate, this Palestinian man motioned to me to take his picture. He was very proud of his little son.
